The Croatian Society of Fine Artists organized a symposium dedicated to Josip Restek, where experts and art historians analyzed his contribution to the Croatian art scene. Academician Tonko Maroević emphasized how Restek achieved universal recognition through the technique of intaglio printing, while Petra Vugrinec highlighted his ability to transform classical motifs into abstract visions. The symposium also included presentations on his most important exhibitions, including a retrospective at the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb in 1985, and his influence on future generations of graphic artists.
